Electronics manufacturing is unforgiving about moisture and particles. Water spots left after plating or cleaning interfere with soldering and inspection; dust on a board causes faults that are expensive to trace. SCB supplies non-contact air knife systems for drying and cleaning, and vortex cold air guns for spot cooling during machining.

PCB Cleaning, Plating and Surface Drying

After plating, cleaning or rinsing, boards carry water on the surface and around components. A spider or ring air knife delivers airflow around the board and its edges, while a bar knife covers flat panels. The air supply can be filtered to the cleanliness level the process requires, and the airflow is uniform across the board so that no area is left wet.

Spot Cooling for CNC Machining

Cold air guns are used on drilling, milling, routing and grinding operations where liquid coolant is undesirable. Compressed air passes through a vortex tube and leaves as cold air directed at the cutting edge, reducing tool temperature without coolant contamination, disposal costs or wet chips.

Non-Contact Airflow for Delicate Components

Mechanical wiping is not an option for many electronic components. Air knives remove water and loose particles without touching the surface, which avoids scratches, contact-related ESD risk and deformation of fine features. Filtration and controlled velocity keep the airflow appropriate for the component.

What We Need to Recommend a System

Send us the board or component dimensions, the conveyor width, the line speed, the cleanliness requirement and the process step. For cooling applications, tell us the heat load and the target temperature. We will recommend the knife type, length, slot width and blower model, together with the expected air consumption.
